Bodhi Tree Day commemorated in Sydney

The Lao Buddhist Society of NSW commemorated Bodhi Tree Day in Sydney’s Wat Phrayortkeo, Lao Buddhist Temple on 03 December 2023.

The program began with Lao style buffet lunch and refreshments for the guests served then a parade around the Bodhi Tree. Mr. Bounlap Saenphoumy the president of the Lao Buddhist Society of NSW led the parade around the Bodhi Tree three times and the official program started after Youvanna Chantharasy was announced as the MC for the event.

Ms. Ramphay Chittasy addressed the guest explaining the background history and the significance of the Bodhi Tree, followed by the cultural program by various Laos’s community groups.

Member for Fowler Hon. Dai Le MP who is also Fairfield City Councilor addressed the guests. The other speakers were MrBounlap Saenphoumy, the president of Lao Buddhist Society and Fairfield City Councilor Mr. Kevin Lam.  The main organizer Mr. Nith Chittasy thanked the guests and the community.  Many community and religious leaders attended the annual function.
