At the start of the year 2020, a heinous crime was committed against humanity by the most arrogant tyrannical regime which hides under the guise of modernity and democracy.
On 03 Jan 2020, the international community witnessed the killing of Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani and his Iraqi counterpart Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, in a cowardly act of terrorism. The General was invited for talks to de-escalate tensions. In the dark, they used a drone missile to murder these noble heroes of the resistance, heroes of humanity.
The historical parallel to this was the killing of the innocent She-camel sent to the people of Thamud despite the warnings given to them by the Prophet Salih. They were subjected to God’s Great Wrath. A tremendous divine punishment descended completely wiping out the people of Thamud from existence.
Similarly, they murdered Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, these valiant champions, destroyers of ISIS. In punishment, God shut down the entire world.
Within days, the world witnessed an unprecedented pandemic that has continued to kill people in the millions. In addition to painful deaths, lockdown, travel restrictions, and uncertainty in every aspect of life for citizens of the world resulting in a global economic crisis of unimaginable proportions. The far-reaching impact of this pandemic cannot still be calculated.
Was it our failure to take care of the safety of these godly souls who had worked tirelessly their whole lifetimes so that the rest of us may walk in safety and sleep without fear? They stopped ISIS within Syria and Iraq so that this evil would not swarm over the rest of the world.
So great was the crime against humanity. It seemed divine punishment had descended when life as we knew it come to a halt.
Sardar Qasem Soleimani was the hero of the Islamic Revolution. What the enemies do not understand is the power of the Revolution, resistance, and resilience of the Iranian people. How would they understand that nation of Iran has nothing but Imam Hussain, the greatest martyr in human history as their inspiration?
Then again, later in 2020, they murdered another great soul, the nuclear scientist of Iran, Dr Mohsin Fakhrzadeh.
The international community continues to suffer because of ongoing bombing in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and elsewhere, acts of physical and economic terrorism intended to bring independent nations to their knees.
Ms. Callamard said to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva that “Absent was an actual imminent threat to life, the course of action taken by the U.S. was unlawful.”
What they fail to understand is that we have a history of 1400 years in which truth and the spirit of resistance have survived, both of which have protected humanity and justice.
So far, American drones have killed millions of innocent Muslims around the world, from Pakistan to Yemen. When will these criminals be stopped? If it were not for General Qasem Soleimani, the entire Middle east would have fallen under the grip of the global terror network created by the same arrogant powers.
It is the responsibility of all peace-loving world citizens to stop these criminal regimes from further harming humanity.
