26 January marks both Australia Day and Indian Republic Day, on 27 January, Indian Support Center (ISC) celebrated a community event that also to honor and recognize Australia’s underground tunneling expert Prof. Arnold Dix.
Program began with various cultural songs and dances showcasing Indian diaspora’s cultural activities followed by presentation by Mr. Subba Rao Varigonda, the president of ISC. He highlighted the Australian expert who saved 41 men trapped by tunnel collapse in India. The event was dedicated to honor Prof. Dix
Other speakers were Hon. Philip Roddock, the mayor of Hornsby Shire Council, Councilor Sameer Pandy(city of Parramatta), and Monider Singh (Blacktown).
The event honored Prof. Arnold Dix on behalf of the ISC and the community Hon Philip Roddock and Mr. Subba Rao Varigonda presented a plaque to Prof. Dix. Ms. Saakshi Kumar was guiding the evening’s proceedings as the Master of Ceremonies.
The event also took a moment to honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of senior members within the communities. This celebration stands as a testament to the Indian Support Center’s enduring commitment to enhancing and empowering the lives of those it serves.
