Pakistan Mission International honours Hon. Jihad Dib and Hon. Julia Finn

On 6 February at Himalaya Function Center Granville, Mr.Shakil Ahmad JP, the president of Pakistan Mission International a lavish dinner meeting was held for Hon. Jihad Dib and Hon Julia Finn, Members of NSW Parliament who will be contesting for their seats in the coming state election in March.

Mr. Naeem Haq opened the program by welcoming the guests followed by recitation of Holy Quran by Prof. Sh. Abdulla Al Tamimi, member of national Sharia Board of AFIC.

President Shakil Ahmad addressed the audience explaining the vision of Pakistan Mission International and how we can progress by working collectively with political and community leaders to benefit the Muslim community in general. He also emphasized the importance of empowering our youth by encouraging their active participation in the Australian political system and media network. He also highlighted the importance of digital media in which he is actively involved in both Australia and Pakistan.

Mr. Shakil Ahmad also shared his experience as CEO of Master Migration and Education and he is the Founder of Australian Migration Network.  Mr. Keysar Trad, CEO of AFIC also spoke.Young speaker Rameez Shakil spoke about the importance of youth engagement with the community and how to empower them.

The Vice Consul or the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Bilal Aksoy addressed the guest and explained the recent earth quake in Turkey that killed thousands of people, he also conducted a prayer for the safety of the people of Turkey. Later Mr. Aksoy led the Magrib prayers.

Hon. Julia Finn, the sitting member for Granville spoke of her community involvement and the support she has gained from Muslim community in general and Pakistani diaspora in particular.  She also introduced her parliamentary colleague Hon Jihad Dip as the chief guest and main speaker of the event. Hon Jihad Dip sitting member for Lakemba is the first Muslim Member of Parliament in NSW who works closely with diversecommunities regardless of background and constituency. Both sitting MPs asked the community to continue their support in coming election.

Ms. Alia Sarfraz and Mr. Naeem Haq were MCs for the evening and they thanked everyone and a delicious Pakistani dinner served.
